i love the victorian period, but ww2 really interests me as it is still living history, still people around who lived through it.

It is totally amazing every year. You can even buy genuine 1940's clothing etc from the stalls there. Shame I'm not skinny enough to get into any. I have to go in my modern mock ups.


My family are running a stand this year to raise awareness for the support our soldiers campaign.
Hopefully I'll be able to sneak in free and get to see a bit more of the behind the scenes stuff for the battle re-enactments, and maybe even get to the dinner dance.

Im dont no much about ww2 time slot but dress/clothes wise i thought was fab!

mum likes reading stories set then, but i don't think she would want to go back in time. she never knew where dad was, he was a sailor, and they had all the windows blown out by a bomb. she did remember using gravy browning and a pencil to make her legs look brown with a seam, as she couldn't get any stocking

has anyone been to Newarke Houses?? they have a fab exhibiton all about WW1 & WW2. Went there today they have an air raid shelter and some sort of dug out. Really worth a visit.

Also, Lee any chance wie can do an investigation at Newarke Houses, got a real feeling round there today especially downstairs and near the staircase ????

you should see all the stuff in our beauty shop at work, some of the beauty staff must spend hours putting all the stuff on and then cleaning it all off again. toning, moisturising exfoliating, what a waste of time and money. By the way, i get 25% discount on the products if anybody is interested.

last time i wore makeup was for my fathers wedding 2 and half years ago

Not been there, but did visit the Imperial War Museum in London when I did my project. That place was amazing. They had WW1 trenches recreated there for you to go through. I wasn't brave enough at the time, but now I really want to go back and face it as well as going to look at the rest of the amazing stuff again.

Only buy the expensive stuff as none of the major brands do a foundation that is the right colour for my ultra ridiculous fair skin. Even the lightest ones they do make me look orange.

I have my own make up consultant now. She will come round occasionally and show me how to look after my skin.

Maybe I should organise another party. Then you can all come round. Let her give you all the make up advise, and I'll get a few of my bits free just for people turning up. You won't need to buy anything. I was the only one who did last time i had one, but it can be a bit of a laugh.
