Disjointed dreams are usually an indication that we are experiencing stress but they can also direct you toward finding solutions.

Rapidly changing scene - Dreams in which you appear in one place and then are transported to somewhere completely different may seem strange but actually serves a good purpose. This is a way for your subconscious to try and get a grip on a problem by examining it from several different angles. your subconscious mind contains pent-up feelings and emotions that constantly merge and compete for attention. During rapidly changing dreams your subconscious is trying to analyse each feeling in isolation and draw your attention to it. It's almost like an alarm system, focusing your mind on the problem so that you can deal with it.

Disjointed mood - If the main feature of your dream is a sense of many different and seemingly unrelated feelings or moods, then the dream is drawing your attention to the changing flux of moods and conditions in the external world. if the moods or feelings remind you of anyone in particular, this dream could be asking you to carefully assess the different personalities that are integral to a situation.

Your changing form - These dreams are all about self-discovery. if you turn into someone you know, like a family member or good friend, it is likely that these people are role models in your life. they may have aspects to their character that you admire and would like to possess yourself. your subconscious mind forms a bridge between you and your role model, allowing you to adopt their persona in your dream world in the hope that some of their positive personality traits may rub off on your waking life.

Changing characters - If the characters in your dreams appear to change form - for example your brother changes to look like someone else, but in your dreams you still know it's your brother - then this suggests an underlying insecurity about that persons motives. You may be worried that they are being disingenuous or are trying to usurp your position in some way. The best way to resolve these feelings is to confront the person with your anxieties so that your subconscious mind can be put at ease.

Broken plot - Broken plots often feel like modern movies - it's usually not until half way through that you actually work out what is going on. These fragments help you to see the 'total picture' by examining a situation from a number of different vantage points. It is common for fragments from previous dreams to be recalled within your current dream - this usually demonstrates that the underlying anxiety is still persisting and should be resolved soon.
