| The Guild Hall – Leicester 1st May 2009 AAIT Special Report by Nina
Pre investigation Everyone arrived and went straight into the safe room, there were a few members who had not been to the guildhall on a ghost watch before so Lee took them round the building in the light so they could see everything, a few of the members also went to take photos.
A few of us were picking up on feelings etc and we had not been opened up at this point (this was a good sign of things to come)
Opening Up Lee opened us all up in the safe room and as it was still a little on the light side we went straight down to the cells which were surprisingly dark.
Vigil 1. The Cells A number of us sat round the table at the far end of the main cell and some of us stood at the side, when we asked out for the spirits it took a moment or two for the glass to respond but when it did we got a strong male spirit at the same time Claire (shamrock) was picking up on the emotions of the male spirit who was not impressed with our being there and wanted us to get “our silly little games over with and get out”. The spirit would not give his name but appeared to be very cross moving the table from left to right and up into the air. At one point Claire had the urge to pick the corner of the table up and slam it back down tell us to get on with our silly games.. Tracey (oven ready) was sat down on the floor at the other end of the mail cell room and suddenly found that she could not breath as she felt as if she was being strangled, two other members had to carry her out of the cells and back to the safe room, Claire then said that she had got what she deserved and when we ask why she said she was a trollop (cannot remember exact word used) and that she was the madam from the whore house round the corner with ideas above her self calling herself “Lady Eleanor or Helena (can’t remember which)”, the spirit effecting Claire would not let us communicate with any other spirits down in the cells. At this point we decided to take a short break. Vigil 2. The Mayors Parlour After a short break we went into the mayors parlour, 2 members went into the small annex and the rest of us sat round the table with Tracey (oven ready) and Sarah who sat on the bench round the edge of the room. Dave (chunks) lay diagonally across the table. The became darker and we asked if any spirits in the room could do something, Tracey (oven ready) said that she had really bad stomach ache, stones were thrown and people around the table were touched. One of the people in the annex was pushed scaring them so much that they both came out and sat either side of the girls on the bench. The table we were all sat around started to vibrate and moved apart pinching the skin on Dave (chunks). Lee had come and sat down at the table by this point and we all joined hands. Lee was soon channelled by a male spirit but he did not really want to talk to the ladies so we asked Steve to talk to him, he said that his name was Frederick, told Tracey (oven ready) that nettles was good for settling the stomach, he liked ale and was a bit drunk as his words were slurred. Dave (chunks) was feeling very cold on the table and was shaking quite violently to which Frederick said to “give him some ale then he won’t feel a thing” he also said the master was coming but would not say who the master was, he also said the master liked them cold. At this point we decided to bring Lee back but this was to prove a little difficult as the spirit would not leave, the next thing was that Dave (chunks) on the table was being channelled possibly by the same spirit a decision was made to remove Lee from the room as he was coming back to the present, Lee was taken into the courtyard by Nina and a few of the others and brought fully back while Sarah brought Dave back to the present in the mayors parlour. At this point we took another break.
Vigil 3. The Library, Annex and Great Hall Once we had all recovered we went up to the library where the resident ghost is Lee showed all of us who did not know how to feel our own auras and that of the resident ghost. Quite a few people in this room felt strange not quite themselves, Tracey (oven ready) and Tacey (tots) started acting strange and a bit giggly if i remember correctly they were crawling along the floor on all fours at this point some of the group went into the small room to the side of the library. You will need to read their report to know what happened.
After a while the rest of us left the library and went down stairs past the recorders bedroom to the main hall with the stage in. Lee asked people to go to where they felt drawn to some of us went to the stage area. Nina felt very threatened every time Dave (chunks) tried to get behind her, she felt like she had to protect someone or something and at one point she pushed Dave (chunks) off the stage which surprised him. Lee was sat on a chair in the middle of the room watching/observing what went on this also unnerved Nina. One of the other ladies in the group was also on the stage and was icy cold from the knees down. At one point while we were in the main hall Tracey (oven ready) came down the stairs from the library crying she was accompanied by Tracey (tots) who said the same thing that happened last time was happening again. The rest of the group that was in the annex of the library came down to join us and we discussed the fact that both group had picked up on the same thing. Once the rest had joined us Tracey (oven ready) was very afraid of Sarah and kept hiding from her and crying with fear. A spirit who’s name we do not know likes to pick the ladies off one by one we know that he cannot do it himself so gets a male servant to do the dirty deeds for him while he watches. The male servant at this point was Sarah and the master was Claire (shamrock) and he was leaving Tracey (oven ready) till last It was strange but amazing how the roles had revered and that the women in the group were picking up on the male spirits and the men were picking up on the female spirits. Because Tracey was very distressed we decided to take a break.
Vigil 4. The Cells We decided that we would return to the cells with the men all in the small cell and the ladies all around the table. Claire (shamrock) sensed the master spirit and Sarah picked up on the male servant we sat round the table and asked the master which order he was going to pick the ladies off and the glass moved to each lady in turn ending on Tracey (oven ready) and lastly Sarah. It turns out that the master has a thing for Sarah???. The masters spirit wanted the men to leave so we told him he would have to do something to them in the small cell something hit the bucket that was in there making them all jump but none of them left, a few of the ladies had left and gone to the safe room by this point as they felt uneasy butt could not explain why and funnily enough it was in the same order that the glass had gone round the table. We told the spirit he would have to do something really bad to make them leave and the next thing we knew the men all came falling/running out of the small cell coughing and choking as the cell had fill with the smell of vomit, one of the men even had to run to the toilets to be sick.
At this point we took another break.
Vigil 5. The Jury Room We were going to end the night in the jury room on the way up there we were all in the courtyard and Tracey (oven ready) and Tracey (tots) were acting like a couple of naughty children playing tag your it, Emma (electrogirl) became very angry at the 2 Tracey’s, we went to carry on up the stairs to the jury room when Lee was told to go to the Mayor Parlour. The cross we had put on the chair in the mayors parlour had been moved into the middle of the tables, no-one had touched it. We left it there and carried on up to the jury room when we entered the room we could not believe what we could see (look at the photos on the anomalies page) when the group had looked round the room earlier in the evening the chairs were all around the table and the viewing doors to the main hall were open (these were not open when we were in their earlier). Was this the noise we heard when we were in the cells????. We put the chairs back round the table and reclosed the viewing doors and put the 2 big heavy chairs back against them. People then sat round the table where they were drawn to some members of the group sat round the outside. We then all joined hands and Lee put the circle of protection around us all who had linked hands and we were told not to break the chain. People’s faces began to change their features became more animal like and it felt like you were viewing them in a exhibition or a zoo. After a while Lee came and joined the circle and he was channelled by a young male spirit (cannot remember name) who kept telling the person next to count it properly and kept saying he wasn’t very good at counting, then Lucy came through and she was here for a good time and knew the Madame Helena/Eleanor?, we asked her if she was in charge of all the girls and Lucy said she was but not her, Lucy went a little on the quiet side when we were talking to her about the Madame. I cannot remember who came through after that. It was nearly the end of the night so we called Lee back to the present and Lee closed everyone down and asked the spirits to go back.
Post investigation The Guild Hall never disappoints I was a strange night very sinister in parts. The role reversal that happened though out the night was amazing and I did feel that it was a much better night with the group being a small one. I cannot wait to go back here again in the future.
I would rate the venue 8/10 i would rate the investigation 9/10 I would rate the venue and the night 9/10

| Guildhall report part 1 22nd May 09
The Guildhall Leicester . Pre-Investigation:- We arrived at our location the guild hall Leicester on Friday 22nd May 2009 at 7:00pm. We had a brief chat regarding the guild and some of its history and Lee introduced himself and gave details of where the evenings investigation would be taking place and what sort of experiments we would be trying out that evening. During the initial introduction several people heard a screeching noise and what appeared to sound like a dragging sound coming from inside the building with that Lee decided it would be a good time to do a walk round before opening us up. Walk round:- We started the walk round in the great hall of the guild this is a large room which features high beamed ceiling and a large stone fire place. The ceilings are detailed with paintings and wording which would have had great significance during the guilds past. The great hall is the original part of the hall and has been extended throughout its time and many of these different types of styles and features are clearly seen and only add to the halls remarkable character. The great hall had many uses during the years and was once Leicester’s main town hall and also a court house and police head quarters. There is a stage area at the far end of the hall and placed on the stage is a judges chair and table over looked by a panelled wall partition that would have opened up for the jury to be seated and used as an early form of witness protection. At the opposite side of the room was a stair case which lead up to a balcony area and the recorders bedroom and the library area. While Lee was giving everyone a talk about the halls history one man complained he felt quite unusual and dizzy and yet had felt fine until entering the great hall. Lee then lead everyone into the Mayors parlour. This is a large wooden panelled room with large portraits of previous mayors of Leicester hanging on the walls. Also there was a huge fireplace painted very colourfully and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. There was wooden seating around the edge of the room located under the windows and a small set of steps that had a door leading back into the great hall. The far end of the room was another small room which is now used for storage. During our time within this room a couple of people complained of feeling very sick . We then made upstairs to the jury room. This room was the same size as the mayors parlour and also contained a large fireplace and a doorway leading to a set of stairs that were the access route for the attic area above. The room had a large table in the centre surrounded by chairs and many old book cabinets on the outer edge of the room. Lee shown us the panelled partition we had seen from the great hall and told us that in past investigations those doors had been opened and that during the last investigation held in this room some chairs had been moved around and appeared to be balancing on each other. We then went into the library located on the first floor of the guild and is said to be one of the oldest libraries in the UK. In the centre of the room was a large wooden table and around the outside were cabinets containing old books and several old chests and writing desk and chair. At the end of the room was a stone fireplace and a doorway into another small room which contained more cabinets. While standing in this room myself and my sister who had accompanied us on our investigation became feeling very strange I felt very off balance and dizzy and we seemed to be losing our footing at the same time it was a very strange sensation and it must have looked like we’d had one too many drinks. Lee finished his talk about the library and informed the team that one phenomena was that the old bible changed pages when no one was in the room. After setting the bible back on the chest it was positioned on we decided to head down to the cells. The cells are set at the far end of the guild and one cell was accessible and contained two wax dummies that of a woman and child. The cell was very small and Lee told us that it is noted up to 17 people once shared that cell so it would not have been pleasant. While Lee continued to tell everyone about the cells a few of us got a strange smell that seemed to manifest from nowhere. I thought it smelled quite clinical but others described it as urine. Whatever the smell it left as soon as it arrived and had us baffled. The far end of the cell area we had a table placed in front of a large stone fireplace area for an experiment we would do later in the evening. We decided to head back to the safe room which was located in the guilds café before taking a rare look around the cottage within the building which until recently was once the museums shop. The cottage was now used as offices and storage and Lee told us that staff often heard footsteps on the stairs here. The living room area had a fire place and a small room of the left which was the coal house. While in this room several people complained of yet again feeling dizzy and sick and one lady became overwhelmingly hot and had to step out of the room. Lee swapped places with one lady and said he actually felt quite heady there and quickly moved away from the space. We headed up stairs and into a one of the 3 rooms up stairs this room again was very uneven and Sarah described it as being on a boat. A few of the group didn’t like the atmosphere in this room and so after a short stat we made our way into the last room of the cottage located at the far end of the landing. This room was felt very much colder than the other rooms accept for one man who complained of feeling very odd and hot. Many of the group said they felt a little intimidated in this room and as though they shouldn’t be there. I actually felt fine in this room and did not share the uneasy feeling that others appeared to be picking up on. We thought that with so many people having experiences like this before even being opened up we should have a break then open up and begin our investigation of the guildhall Leicester. Investigation:- Vigil 1:- Great Hall: Before opening up Lee asked for everyone to find a spot in the room they felt most drawn too if they felt anything at all. I felt at this point I was drawn towards the main door into the hall and stood with my back to the door facing everyone else. Some of the group moved towards the stage area while others went towards the staircase and a few stood still in there original spaces feeling they were not drawn to any particular place at all. Lee then opened everyone up and said he heard someone say to him that “she isn’t here” and a loud noise almost like wood on wood was heard very clearly. Lee asked everyone to move to the area they felt drawn too myself moving towards the stage alone and standing on the edge facing the group. Three of the group stood on the balcony area and Sarah stood at the top of the staircase. Other members of the group stood scattered around the room. It was pointed out that the room seemed to be divided and those who had originally stood one end of the room had completely changed sides now they had been opened up. Lee asked how everyone felt one man standing on the balcony said he felt very angry and frustrated along with another woman. Although the other lady on the balcony felt quite happy. Why Lee was calling out I had what sounded like a mans voice grunt and this added to the extreme unease I was feeling standing on the stage. Lee then pointed out that Ryan had become very cheeky looking and seemed to be smirking at the gentleman on the balcony and yet when asking Ryan he explained he felt like it was quite a smug smirk and he felt quite happy to be annoying the man on the balcony who had found Ryan’s smirk quite frustrating. This was completely out of character for Ryan who is usually a very quite and introvert character and isn’t the sort of person who takes pleasure in irritating others around him. Why this conversation was taking place I felt more uneasy and my heart was pounding and was just praying I could move off the stage and away from whatever it was making me feel so on edge. Lee then said he felt drawn to the library and asked Sarah if she and the people on the stage would go check the library. Upon entering the library Sarah let out a surprised shriek and shouted for everyone to go and look in the library. Once in the library the whole group was shocked to find the old writers chair balancing on the edge of the large table on its front legs leaning forwards. This was a total shock to all the group as everyone was accounted for when leaving the library during the walk round and the chair was not in that position at that point. When the shock had subsided Lee thought it would be a good idea to go back into the great hall and do a small experiment to see how opened up the group now was. With 2 out of 3 of the experiments having a positive result Lee confirmed the group had opened up well and had decided that we should call out. With the group sitting in a circle some of the group again became very frustrated and angry yet Ryan became more and more smug much to the annoyance of some of the frustrated members of the group. One man commented that he had seen a shadow on the steps and another man seen a shadow move behind his chair. Lee asked for the spirit to come closer to the circle and said the spirit answered with “ you have got to be joking.”. Then a stone was thrown and Val had her ear pulled and my leg felt as though it was touched. Lee said he was picking up on a malicious character who was enjoying winding up the angry members of the group and this was the reason for Ryan’s behaviour. Many cold blasts of air were felt and the temperature seemed to go up and down quite rapidly. Lee decided he would check the area with an EMF monitor. This seemed to go wild around one side of the room and when Lee asked the spirit to swap sides and move over the other side of the group the EMF monitor then picked up a lot of activity from the other side of the group when asked. One man felt drawn to the judges chair and as he was the same man who had been very frustrated on the balcony earlier during the investigation Lee suggested he went and sat in the chair. Once the man sat down he said he felt a lot calmer there yet still frustrated with Ryan. The man commented that he didn’t feel alone on the stage so Lee joined him and agreed there was a spirit on the stage also. Some members of the group could see the mans features change one of his legs seemed to vanish and he grew a beard. We then decided that with the amount of activity we had experienced within the great hall it may be worth moving onto our next location the mayors parlour and see what was held in store here. Vigil 2:-Mayors parlour: When entering the room most of the group sat around a large table that had been set up in the middle of the room. A lady volunteer laid on top of the table facing the ceiling while Ryan went to do a lone vigil in the small storage room. With the remaining members of the group sitting on the outer edge of the room we began to call out to the spirits within the room. Myself asking out for the spirits to make there presence known footsteps and banging from the room above (jury room) could be heard. We knew this room was empty and locked and all people accounted for within the group so the noise came as a great surprise. I called out again and this time more banging was heard and a stone was thrown that seemed to bounce and hit the floor. Lee then called out to Ryan to check how he was getting on in the storage room with Ryan informing the group he could here a murmuring sound and a white light was seen. With the noises above continuing Lee asked out again for the spirits to touch Ryan in the other room which Ryan later confirmed he shoulder was touched on demand. Shortly after this the room seemed to become lighter and a shower of stones were thrown hitting and startling several members of the group. Lee joined the table and the group put there hands on the table and called out with the table jolting in response. We quickly became aware that Lee had become very quiet and so Sarah asked for the spirit to respond to us. The spirit introduced himself as” William Herrick” and he was looking for “little Rosie a sweet girl” he told the group before hitting the top of the table very loudly and making everyone jump out of there skin. William took great delight in the panic he caused and found it very amusing laughing out loud then singing “ring a ring a roses” William told the group one lady resembled Rosie and told her to go to the fields. He then looked down at his hands and placed them on the tables and commented on the lady to his lefts rings. Sarah asked if William was going to do anything for us and he said he had already done it and laughed. William then told everyone they were going to die soon . One lady commented that the spirit couldn’t hurt us and William just laughed and said I will get you later and then started to admire portrait on the wall which Sarah confirmed was in fact William Herrick himself. William said he needed Rosie to write his will and when Sarah asked if he was about to die he said “soon “ and began to choke. Sarah asked William if anyone else was in the room but had noticed one female around the table appeared very skeletal and withdrawn. William agreed and said” Mary is here she is bad and deserves her punishment” William began to say a prayer and a few members of the group became tired and felt very strange with one member of the group reporting a taste of blood in there mouth and the smell of chloroform. Sarah asked William if he had any questions for us and he just said “ why?” Sarah asked if Mary wanted to speak and he said “ no”. We decided that Lee had been gone for quite a while and thought it would be a good idea to bring him back and take a break before going onto our next location the cells. Vigil 3:- Cells:

| Guildhall report part 2, 22nd May 09
Vigil 3:- Cells: We entered the cells and sat around the table where we began to do some glass divination. The glass started to move in an anti clockwise direction indicating the spirit coming through was a male. The glass seemed very weak and so Lee decided it would be better if the group placed there hands on the table to perform a table tipping experiment. The table immediately started to move and three members of the group became effected. Laura became giggly and started to feel drunk and she burst into fits of laughter when someone said the name Lucy. At this Laura began to slur the words “juicy Lucy and told Lee she liked him” the table then jolted and hit Ryan who started to laugh and slur his words and hugged the lady next to him. The table then began to move again hitting Lee who seemed to be slowly drifting in and out of being channelled. He started to laugh and said that everyone had dumpy fingers and he found this very funny. This continued for a while with the table making jolting movements and the three group members making the odd giggle or funny remark but nothing of substance was really revealed. However Laura did mention that one of Lucy’s friends had a lot of spots. Laura complained she had become shaky so I offered to exchange places with her . When sitting in Laura’s chair I noticed just how cold it was there and my head became a little dizzy. I had been sitting down for only a short time when I felt that my elbow was being pulled and my arm was shaking. The girl sitting to my right mentioned that my body appeared to be shaking and that my voice had changed. I will apologise now for my sketchy memory of this event but I have huge gaps in memory over what happened from here and can only tell you what others have told me and I hope others can add onto the report there own accounts of the following conversation. The group did seem in high spirits at this point but I cannot recall what was said I got pins and needles and became very hot. I recall Sarah mentioning that I spoke odd and my mouth seemed to make some strange movement and although several people seen this I do not recall doing this. I heard Laura behind me say the name “Betsy” and that is where my full memory ends. I feel I must have dozed off during the rest of the conversation but have been told that Lee asked what Lucy was drinking. Laura answered “Sugar” and I said “with gin” when asked why Laura told the group it was t “numb the pain and make things loose” I then informed the group it was to help her out of a situation that was part of the risk in her line of work and she had been in the predicament four times. I was asked what Betsy was doing there and I informed the group she was Lucy’s madam she was caught by a gentleman taking money from one of her ladies why she was working so was arrested. Betsy will only be in the one night this time I informed the group. I have been told I mentioned the light of the candle being blue many times and when Lee pointed out that he could touch the flame (battery operated candle) and asked what Betsy thought I replied “Nothing I can walk through walls!” When questioned where Betsy lived I told the group mountsorral near Sileby needed to be out the way to avoid the law. Then I remember feeling very tired and looking at everyone staring at me and feeling like a bit of an idiot for dozing off only to find out I had been channelled. I have to admit I have never had this happen before and the overwhelming feeling of tiredness was unreal and the shaking was also quite strange. The group said they got the feeling that although Betsy was a little grumpy she cared for her girls and was a friend of Lucy’s and it is very odd how both myself and my sister being very close both got channelled by these ladies. I hope other members of the group can shed some light on the whole conversation. During the time I was channelled a lady was heard singing several times and there seemed to be the sound of movement coming from with the cell area. We then took a well deserved break and I honestly felt I could have slept very well at that point regardless of the fact I was in a haunted building. Vigil 4:- Library: We took a short stop off at the library where we noticed the bible had changed pages and was open on the page headed ‘Judges’ at this I said to Sarah I felt we should move to the jury room as I have a feeling something has happened there. The reason I thought this was because of earlier events with William mentioning something had already happened and the noises from above us while in the room. Now it seems the book was pointing us in that direction too. With little activity within the library we decided to head to the jury room for the final part of our investigation. Vigil 5:- Jury Room: As Lee opened the door to the jury room he became aware of an object behind the it blocking his entry. Lee reached into the door and turned on the lights to find the object behind the door was a chair that had been pushed against it. There was also another chair in the middle of the room laying down on the floor as though it had been thrown. Once everyone had seen the chairs we entered the room to find a further two more chairs balancing one on its back legs one on its front legs. To the right hand side of the room was a fifth and final chair that was also laying on the floor as though tipped over. This was very impressive as there was no way anyone could access the room without entering the room through the main door. How would a chair be propped against the door if that was the only entrance? Once everyone had taken a seat around the table we joined hands and Lee decided to give us extra protection. With this done people began to notice that some of the groups features appeared to change and become distorted. Lee opened the attic entrance door and then joined the rest of the group at the table. Lee became quiet and we realised he had been channelled. Sarah asked for the spirits name and was given the answer “James” we asked if he was alone he said “no slap happy chappy with shit in his nappy” he then turned to lady on his right and said “count!” when asked why he wanted her to count he repeated “count” when we asked what it was for he said “ accounts!” so when the lady asked if it was money she needed to count James angrily answered “No Bricks! What do you think imbecile” He then looked straight ahead towards the far end of the table and looking at Marie said “Josephine! Take her down to the hall for sentencing” when Sarah questioned this he told her “shh these walls have eyes “ Sarah asked who was watching and he told us the “kings men“. We asked about the workers and what he paid them and he told us “too much” when we asked again if he was with anyone a clicking noise was heard and he said “there…slap happy chappy with shit in his nappy” No sooner had he said this he seemed to leave and Lee started to giggle. Lee appeared to have been channelled by Lucy who seemed extra loud and outgoing this evening and was telling everyone she loved them. Sarah asked if Lucy had been in the cells earlier in the evening Lucy started to laugh and said “yes shhhh” Sarah asked who Betsy was and Lucy said “ Betsy my good friend I love her but she is in the cell with the rats and cats” and she burst into fits of giggles. Lucy then started to ask everyone’s name when one lady replied “Amy” Lucy said “oh I love that it has a ring to it” she also told us her friend Jamima was in the alley with Francis getting cream put on her spots. She also said Ada was there and asked her to open the door a click was heard but the door did not open. Lucy seemed in very high spirits and was being extra flirty and was hilarious even if most of what she said didn’t make sense. Sarah asked Lucy if she had to pay Betsy Lucy said yes she did and that she had made seven pennies that night but not to tell Betsy because she would take six of them. Lucy told us the most money she had made in one night was twenty two pennies. After a little sing song we decided it was a good way to end the evening and we said our goodnights to Lucy. With Lee back with us we closed down the circle and decided to end our investigation at 2am. Post Investigation:- I have investigated the guild hall on many occasions but I have to admit this was by far the best night I have ever spent here. The whole place was full of different kinds of activity and had been turned on its head from the usual welcoming feeling I usually feel here. At some points during our evening I felt very on edge especially in the great hall yet usually I feel fine here. The mayors parlour seemed less threatening than usual and this was also a complete contrast to the usual feelings within this room. On a whole the investigation was fantastic and with all the different kinds of phenomenon experienced it proves no two investigations are ever the same. I personally would rate this investigation as a 8 ½ out of 10. I would rate the venue 9/10 I would rate the venue and investigation 9/10

| Guildhall – Saturday 27th June 2009 Report by Vix (Muse) A small group of just 13 turned out for this private investigation, but that didn’t stop the brilliantly sinister night that was about to happen. As 10 of the people attending where regulars, Lee did not do the usual talk, and instead ran through some items regarding next years locations. This got us all riled up with excitement about what is to come in 2010! We then proceeded to do the usual walk about with the lights on..although being Summer and still very light, the light was not at this point in our control! Lee first had a trick up his sleeve however, and revealed this secretly to Vix , whilst the rest of the group mingled in the safe room. Lee showed Vix a cellar, located within an admin office, which had never been investigated before. This was due to Lee never having the keys to it! The walkabout continued and there was an eerie feel to the location, as Tracey (Oven Ready), Angie, Vix, Ry (Sidbear), and Claire (Shamrock) all felt things including pains, headaches, sickness, and general uneasiness particularly in the Mayor’s Parlour. At this point there was talk of ‘Number 1’ and ‘Number 2’ going around, but a few people were unsure what exactly this meant. All were however about to find out later that night. Everyone went back to the safe room to be opened up. Immediately there were noises coming from the far corner table, near to the coffee making area, and Lee told us all of a presence that was about. Claire also received a warning from her spirit guide as she was opened up, which said, ‘you do not need this’. Vigil 1: The Cellar The surprise was revealed to all, as Lee took us all downstairs to the pitch black darkness of the cellar. A very small room, with low ceiling and cobwebs everywhere, it was extremely dark inside, even though it was still light outside. The room continued to get darker. Vix and Hollie were standing in a corner and sensed that the wall was actually further back than it was. It seemed to go back far and into a tunnel almost. Dave (Chunks) swapped places with Vix and too agreed with this. There where a few noises of a stone or something being thrown around the same area, as it made a clinking noise against some metal rods down on the floor. Claire mentioned that she thought water was coming in through near the blacked out window, and it was getting deeper and quite dangerous towards the ‘tunnel’ side of the room. Various noises where heard down here, including a bell which sounded a little like a cat’s bell. This new room was just the warm up for the rest of the investigation. It was interesting that a tunnel effect was picked up on, when we were all later told that this area would probably be where the tunnel ran under Guildhall and through to the church next door. We moved on for a quick break and the next vigil. Vigil 2: Great Hall We started in the Great Hall with the usual walk around and standing where we felt drawn to. Hollie stood near the middle of the room and felt very emotional and upset. Dave sat on the stage area, towards the right as one looks at it. Vix stood at the back of the stage area, to the left as one looks at it. At this point, Dave was laughing and Vix started to get very agitated by this. The more he laughed, the more annoyed at him she got. Jayne, a total sceptic and on her first ever investigation, also felt rather emotional in this room and could not explain why this was. Everyone then took a seat and did the experiment where one predicts which shape would be in each envelope. Interestingly, first time round produced a 100% incorrect rate which is as unlikely as a 100% success rate. Of further interest is the fact that 4 people predicted that there were 4 spirits in the building when Lee first turned up that evening. Another quick break was then taken. Vigil 3: Mayor’s Parlour Everyone sat around the table, with Dave going into the separate room alone, and Vix lying across the table. It was getting darker by this point and torches went off, to put everyone in complete darkness as per usual. There was a very unnerving feel to this room straight away. People were getting touched, including Angie, Lee, and Vix. The tables moved apart and were shaking a lot. Vix got pins and needles in her legs, and the left side of her face went numb.Tracey was very upset and was sitting next to Claire, who passed her spirit guide over to protect Tracey. Tracey could not be seen by the majority of people sitting around the table, as though she had disappeared into the background darkness. Again, at this point a lot of us didn’t really understand what was going in here. Lee then got channelled by a Gentleman who refused to give his name, and barely any information. As this was happening, somebody’s stomach rumbled which made most people giggle to the rage of the unnamed Gentleman. Lee banged the table and shouted at us for laughing. Claire warned us that we should not laugh as we were all being lulled into a false sense of security. At this point, Vix removed herself from the table and Hollie took her place. Dave came out of the room next door quite hurriedly and said he did not wish to go back. Claire warned us further that nobody should go into the room again that night otherwise it would end badly. Alas, nobody went back in. Dave said that something was in there with him that wasn’t nice and was touching him. Lee, Angie, and Jayne who were all sitting together on one side of the table, started to feel very silly, childish and giggly. Again, Claire warned them that it could be a trick on spirit’s part. Things were starting to build with something going on that had been going on all night so far, between Tracey, Claire, Ry, and Dave in particular. All would be revealed.. Vigil 4: Cells Max and Angie volunteered to go into the cell together, as the rest of us sat around the table to do the usual divination and tipping. The results were not as spectacular as had been on previous investigations, but Ry was to be channelled soon after by 2 separate Gentlemen with interesting connections. The glass however did provide us with some scary information regarding the situation that had been brewing all night. With Claire asking questions, regarding an ‘order’, the glass picked Debbie as 1st, Lee 2nd, Jayne 3rd, Gavin 4th, Hollie 5th, Laura’s Mum 6th, Ry 7th, and Vix 8th. This was apparently the order by which the presence was to pick us off in. Slightly before the first channelling, Dave was sitting on the floor halfway down the cells and seemed to be growing in agitation. He left and was later pacing outside the cells. Ry then got channelled by ‘Number 2’. It seemed apparent now that the ‘picking off’ order we were told of earlier was the order spirit was planning on getting rid of us from the room in, so as to get to its target; Tracey. Number 2 completely made a beeline for Tracey, speaking of how he would get her, and succeed, etc.. Lee was generally asking the questions to him, speaking of how it wasn’t nice to be doing what he was doing. Spirit was not impressed by this and continually slammed his fist down hard onto the table. Vix started to ask questions, and Number 2 said he wasn’t sure yet whether to have her also, or chop her up into little pieces. Claire started to defend Tracey again, by telling Number 2 that he would never get to her to which we all started to say a similar thing. Number 2 said he had to leave as Master was coming. Within minutes Ry was further channelled by Number 1, the Master. Master was still very sinister, but seemed slightly calmer than Number 2 was. Not as aggressive almost. Lee again took control asking the majority of questions, stating that Number 1 didn’t do anything to these women because he ‘couldn’t get it up’. Spirit replied by saying he had a problem. Lee said, ‘I know you have a problem’. Spirit replied with, ‘how do you know?’ Lee said he was a Doctor, to which the Master said he had the Doctor there killed because he disliked him so. Dave was still out of the room, Tracey and Claire were battling the two vicious spirits, and everyone decided to stick together and not leave the room or Tracey separately. Max and Angie had in the meantime come out of the cell, letting us know that they had been touched in there. Lee left the cells first to look for Dave, and the rest of the group congregated around Tracey to leave together. A well needed break was had. Vigil 5: Library After a long break and discussion, where most things where explained to those of us that didn’t understand what had been happening, there was an hour left. We moved on to the library and all got to feel each others auras, and touch the resident ghost. We didn’t stay here long before moving straight on. Vigil 6: Jury Room Everybody joined hands for the final vigil, and we saw some transfiguration. Lee was channelled firstly by a Gentleman named Thomas who had something to do with accounts at the hall. The time period was dated around when Charles II was King, as Thomas said so himself. When Thomas had gone, Lucy popped by for a visit. She mentioned some of her friends with spots, and seemed saddened by the fact she had been left alone in bed by somebody. Amusingly, she also didn’t have any knickers on as she had left them down an ally way. It was now about 0155 hours and was time to call it a night. Lee closed everybody down, and a totally fantastic if different and sinister night was had by all at the Guildhall. I would rate the venue 9/10 I would rate the investigation 8/10 I would rate the venue and the night 9/10 | |
