In 1842 the slum area of leicester where the Swan and Rushes is located was an area where a murder could have taken place.
After the war this area became a redevelopment location and many of the old houses were pulled down.
The place where the murder took place no longer exisits but it has been built on and just over the road is the Swan and Rushes where they are all said to have drunk.
The murder of Mary, and Jones along with Catherine and Sukey the last said to be the murderer are said to haunt the public house although only two have been seen or felt and that is beleived to be Catherine and Sukey
