Any place that serves alcohol provides companionship,and creates an atmosphere of fun and excitment.they are a prime location for strange phenomena and unusual characters.
Historically there are many old public houses that will harbor ghosts of long ago.
Ghosts linger to savor tastes of the past.Of course over the years many people have died as a result of bar-room fights ,stabbings, shootings and mob massacres.
Most of these happen in public houses as well as resturants that serve alcohol.
When investigating a bar it would be very beneficial to research the history of the building or site.Always ask to see the basement,if possible,or any store rooms or hidden places if known.These places are normally the oldest parts of the building and have escaped serious renovations over the years.They could be the repository of the ageless energies in the form of a ghost or residual energy.
Also by trying to research you may be able to uncover some of the stories that people tell because the one thing that is very hard to research when investigating a public house is people that have frequented over the years as most of these places have thousands of passing trade from one year to another.
Sometimes you have to rely on the owner of the place to give you vital information that is normally passed from landlord to landlord.
