Ancient Ram inn Friday 9th January 09


For the people that had not been here before, we took them on a tour, most people were quite shocked at how the place was and the amount of stuff John had collected over the years. It was a very cold night and it was going to be a very hard night. The 17 of us had travelled far and some of us had been up since 6am. The place had not changed much since the last time I visited some 3 years previous. The only difference tonight was that we could no longer investigate the attic area, as the stairs were unsafe.
I had warned everyone before entering of what was reported here without telling them all everything, only about the evil presence that has been reported by many groups. This was not to frighten them but to warn them. I can certainly say that after my last investigation here, which I was very disappointed at. I was hoping for a better night this time around, would or wouldn’t we be disappointed this time? While we were waiting to start many of us were waiting to use the toilet and we all heard a growl and a scraping noise when we tried to find out what the noise was we tried moving two staffs across a wall and it was the same sound. Nobody was near the staffs and one lady got touched on the arm and scared her.


Car park.

We opened everyone up in the car park and I was expecting people to pick up on the gentleman who had just walked past us, he walked straight through the middle of the circle and I thought that one person was about to comment and then we broke the circle and ventured in side. Later this spirit would make himself known. I did not mention this as I wanted to know who and what he was doing there and I did not get any other information. A few people mentioned that they went cold all of a sudden and considering the evening was freezing, I’m surprised they could feel any colder but they did.

The Barn.

We started our investigation in the barn. This is said to be one of the most haunted places of the Ram Inn, most of the floor is no longer there and it is very uneven. As soon as we were settled we heard something either get thrown drop or fall. Two of us said it sounded as if a light bulb had blown as if popped by a pinging noise. A few minutes later this happened again. Many of us heard things being moved behind us and this was from all different angles of the group. People started to get touched on the heads and their arms, hands and one lady shouted out and she was touched on the boob. One new lady was poked in the face, interestingly enough none of the men were being affected at all. We all heard what sounded like a drum and then one lady felt very drunk and interestingly enough a tankard was placed onto her arm then fell to the floor making her leg shake so bad with fright that she could not control herself and had to sit down. We all composed ourselves again and another lady had a piece of paper hit her on the head and then we all heard more paper, on turning the torches on we seen a few magazines around and we thought that it could have been one of these but on investigating it was a leaflet about the Ram Inn. Next we had knocks happening around us and we could hear things being moved but again on investigation with lights on could not find anything that had been moved. I had my hand pulled and a few others had their coats pulled. Many of us could see a figure at the end of the barn near the door area, which came and went.
A few of us could see lights appear. I suddenly got the feeling and saw a man walk into the barn and he was not very nice. He did not like the men being here but he did not mind the ladies. He was tall and very slim he went by the name of Edward. I was told that he raped and murdered but on investigation I was told that that was Michael, so could this of been Edward that was telling me and it was Michael that I was seeing and feeling? I was told that he liked the women but only some of them and that he murdered and buried bodies under the floors and some were children. I got a great feeling of despair and started to cry, I could see blood everywhere, a couple of people could hear sighs and one person heard a cry. Another person heard a cat’s cry and bell. A few names came out but I cannot remember what names they were.
I felt as if someone was hung from the beams but nobody else picked up on this. This place was certainly held for sacrifice and many of us could smell horse manure, which seemed to come and go but this happened only when something had been thrown or fell.


The Bar.

We all sat around the Ouija board and tried to get the glass to move, it almost started before we put our hands on it. As soon we had contact on the glass it started to move quite strongly spelling out things for us to read. It spelt out Kyle, this was a mans first name which made one of our group quite frightened as her sons name is Kyle and we thought that it was about him for a start that the communication was about We then found out that this is a spirit that frequents here and was killed in a motor cycle accident on his wedding day he gave us the year 2008 which we seemed to be strange but after questioning him again said he had only had communication since 2008, he told us he needs our help and he was there to warn us. He seemed to be a nice man and had a lot to say. He told us the spirit to be careful of was Edmond and he said goodbye, he also told us that he was scared of going to the light and that he wanted to stay to help others. While this was going on we kept seeing lights flashing outside and we assumed it to be people outside taking photos but on investigating this there was nobody around. One lady saw a shadow of a man walk behind a bench and another lady had her chair pulled from underneath her, this happened so quickly that it hit my arm on the ascent. We then had Edmond join us and he told us via the board that he did not want any of the men at the board and only some of the women, we asked him to show us the letters of the names of the people he did not want around the table and there were about 9 of us not including the men so this only left 5 or 6 around the table. They got some interesting things bought out and they also got children come through that are buried under the ground here it all of q sudden went flat.
While sitting down around the bar after this I was channelled and you will have to wait until I find out what was said before I adds it to this.

Witches room

Many of us were touched in the witch’s room and the floor kept vibrating as if someone was jumping up and down, but nobody was. We kept hearing as if something was thrown but nothing was found. 2 people felt very disorientated and started to sway as if on a ship and could not stop. Another couple of people heard a cackle and a sigh and a few of us heard either a dog or an animal of some description.

Bishops room.

This is the most haunted place in the ram but we all found it to be disappointing in here and most people were not affected but a few of us got our feet pulled. Again a few people had something thrown at them and a few of us lay on the beds. The women in here were very jolly and felt very comfortable so the men left them in here. Nothing else happened.

The barn 2

We came in here for the last vigil and a few things happened as before but we all felt as if it had gone flat so decided to call it a night.


Conclusion.

A good night was had by all and personally speaking it was better than the first time I came, although I said it once and I will say it again that I do not think that this place is as haunted as they say it is and certainly not as most Haunted portrayed it to be. Even so I do think that given the right group and circumstances you are in for a good night and the spirits here will not disappoint, bear in mind that it is a very old building and that some of the things we were aware of happening and immediately assuming it to be paranormal might not be paranormal, it could simply be plaster and things falling from the roof, then again who knows, this is what the paranormal is all about and last but not least if it is spirit then there just as much in the right to be there as we are.

We got settled and turned the torches off within seconds a stone was thrown, sound of breathing was also heard. Tracy was hit on the head with what seemed to be like a magazine, Chris could see a light above Lees head and some thing was also pulling on Lees hood. The room seemed to go very dark, at the end of the room a shadow was seen in the door way and appeared to enter the room . Sarah was touched on the head, more stones were thrown hitting members of the group. Foot steps were heard walking around, a lady came out with the name John which Lee confirmed, the lady asked John to make his self known and was hit by a stone on her coat. Lee could feel the presence of a nasty spirit called Edmond who threw a stone in response to his name mentioned. Edmond had done cruel things to women including rape and he also murdered children, Lee became upset at the things he was picking up on but agreed to continue. Sarah and a number of others were being pulled by an unseen force and felt it hard to stand up right, lots of people were having pains in their chests and the smell of sulphur, horse manure and whisky was smelt. More stones were heard bouncing around the room. Lee was given a double cross for Christmas and felt it being pulled up from around his neck and then dropped to make a small noise. Tots screamed as her hood was pulled forward and at the same time something grabbed hold of Lees hand. Sarah called out to Lee and he responded with a whisper but when challenged why is he whispering he said he wasn’t and he never heard us call out to him. A loud rumble was heard which sounded like a gas bottle we were standing by being rocked, people were being touched and a lot of ladies had their hair stroked. As the night went on noises were coming from all around us and because the room is used to store house hold items, tins, furniture and general garage junk it was hard to work out where the sounds were coming from and what the noise were . Tracy was feeling the affects of being drunk and as she told the group what she was feeling a glass was placed on her arm, we then decided to swap the group around to see if others would be affected in the same way. As the group were now standing in different locations the activity seemed to follow them. The smell of burning could be smelt and peoples faces were getting touched again and a lady had her hat pulled back. Lee reached forward and could feel a cold spot in the middle of the group, he said it was a small man with a flat cap on , a lady came out with the name Samuel but we could not confirm the name. Some people felt dizzy and started to sway which is exactly the same as other people felt before we swapped the group around. The barn seemed to go very quiet so we decided to go for a warm and a break………….
The Main Bar
In this room was a Ouija board with a candle on it , we all sat around the board who could fit and some of the group sat on benches to the back. Emma went to sit by Lee and was tipped out of her chair as she tried to sit down. As soon as we put our fingers on the glass it was off moving around the table, we asked for a name and the glass spelt out the word key. We asked again and got the name Kyle who was 17 and he had got the key to a secret. He gave us the date for 2008 which he said it was the date when he died, he also said he was sad and did not mind us being here. Now and again a flash was seen through the rear window it was not regular but we did think some one was out side. We asked did he die out side on a motor bike, the glass spelt out the words help me. Lee asked does he come here in visitation to which he said yes , he said he is not related to the current owner and he died on his wedding day , he said he has been seen in 2008 , we asked does he want to go to the light the glass moved towards the candle he went on to say he was frightened of the light because he was not sure what was there . The glass then went to y,b,m,o,y we could not make any sense of the letters. The glass continued to move around the board and spelt out b, care we was warned to be careful of the building and who is there. We learned that when he left the building he saw something and he crashed his bike and was killed, from the glass to the floor was ice cold .The spirit told us it was Edmond who he saw before the accident. We asked if Edmond was with us and he said yes and left us. The glass continued again to move with force and speed across the board, he wanted some of us to leave and moved the glass on to a letter of who he wanted to go this left only a few at the board, the rest of the group stood back behind the bench looking into the room. Sarah took charge and asked why he wanted the others to stay at the board the glass spelt out I am it, the glass was moving back and forth we was not sure who was with us, Emma said are there children as her chair was being pushed forward. The spirit said there were six children with us and Sarah came out with the name Lizzie, Lee also come out with the name Frank we asked how old is Frank and the glass went to the number 10 Lee also asked if Jonny and Samuel was with us and the glass responded with yes and they are seven years old. Lee asked if they are buried under the floor beneath the board the glass said yes. Lee asked if Edmond killed them and the glass stopped moving and ended the Ouija board. We blew the candle out and sat around the board to see if anything else would happen. Sarah felt the beer barrel move which the board was resting on and Lee saw a flash from out side as we looked around others saw the flash again, Lee went out side to see if he could work out where the flashing light was coming from, a lady looked across the table and could see the features of a nun in another lady. Other peoples features also began to change. Again people felt unwell with chest pains and head aches, then out of the blue Lee said “ that was good “ Sarah asked what was good Lee was not sure what we were on about then a noise was heard to the rear of the group. Lee kept looking to the right looking out the window watching for some thing, he then said “ we can always go to the Abbey through the fire place but don’t tell know one “ we asked him his name and he whispered “ Crew “ he wanted us to follow him to the Abbey he said “ one way to the Abbey to the right the left goes to the church “ he said he wasn’t any thing to do with the church he went on to say “ get the horses ready “ we could not get a date from him but he did shoot up straight when he was asked if he was a highway man, he continued to look out he window and felt there was to be an ambush by some one, he went on to say he was not alone. He said that the Abby was a safe place to go. We asked if we should go now and Lee was back with us saying “ we can go up stairs if we want “ we then moved on to our next room…..

The Witches room
We all squeezed in to the room it was bitter cold, the floor was very uneven and seemed to slope towards the door way. In this room i began to get an head ache as did some of the group, Lee could hear a noise and used a torch to view the room and look for the sound. As we moved closer together trying to get warm a stone was thrown across the room hitting the dressing table, the floor kept vibrating and it was hard to work out was it us moving about. As we looked around the room people looked taller this could be due to the uneven floor, Sarah had an elbow pushed into her stomach and a lady felt blind in one eye. Lee could hear a clicking noise from the corner of the room, the floor continued to vibrate Lee asked for people to move their feet but it wasn’t the same vibration. A lady could see a shadow standing behind Sarah so Sarah moved to the middle of the group, Sarah also said her back was burning, another stone was thrown across the floor and a groan was heard to the rear of the group. As Lee looked over he said I looked as if I was wearing a hood, but I did not have a hood. Again we had another stone thrown to get our attention, Sarah said she feels we should be chanting, Lee called out the name Alice and asked for her to affect one of us, a lady was touched on the head and another on the nose. As the night went on the room was getting so cold, the smell of clean washing or ironing was smelt, Val was hit by a stone and a cackle laugh noise was heard at the same time. Tracy was swaying back and forth Lee asked for a torch to be switched on Tracy felt sick as if they were on a boat and Sarah wanted us to chant. We all swapped places to see if the atmosphere would change, we turned the torches off and waited. As we stood still the floor vibrated as if some one was jumping up and down, Emma was touched on the arm and another lady said her arm felt numb. We waited a bit longer but the activity had stopped so we moved to the next room…………
The Bishops Room
In this room was three beds Lee lay in the middle bed Tots lay on the first bed, with the torches off a stone hit a lady on the coat. As Lee lay on the bed he began to get an head ache which seemed to come from the back , another stone was thrown hitting the back wall, as Lee lay on the bed he saw an orb move across the end of the bed left to right. This room was also very cold, a lady was touched on the leg and Lee sounded drunk as he talked to us. The room seemed to look a lot bigger in the dark and another stone was thrown near Emma then the other Steve was hit by some thing . Sarah began to start giggling and had to be held up, Lee and Tots feet were being touched and some ladies in the group felt pregnant, there was a sound of high pitched laughter was heard then a lady screamed as she was pushed, more stones were heard hitting the back wall. Lee and Tots felt it hard to get off the beds as if there legs were in glue, the sound of foot steps were heard above in the attic and Sarah was touched on her jeans pocket. Tracy was touched on the bum, in the shadows Lee looked like he had a small child round his neck. Lee decided to take the males of the group out the room to see if any thing would happen, we left the room and went next door in a small bed room ………..In the small room we stood still and waited but nothing happened or was heard…..
The Barn second visit
We got set up again but this time the group all stood at the far end near the fire place which looked as if people were missing, as we stood still Lees hand was grabbed and as he jumped Lee scared Emma. A stone was thrown and some thing blew in Sarah`s ear. Lee called out and a whistle noise was heard, Sarah had her leg rubbed up and down, The gas bottle made a rumble noise again and members of the group complained of back ache. There did not seem to be much happening so we closed down and called it a night……..

hi great report I def agree with you lee I dont believe this is the most haunted place to visit but a good night all the same I think if we had got off to a better start and wore more clothes def extra socks so i didnt have to put my gloves on my feet it poss would have been alot better. I just feel very grateful to have had the chance to visit such an amazing building with so much history its just such a shame it seems so be going to rack and ruin now. and val im so sorry about groping u all night your boobs are great to hind ya face in though when a bit scared lol.
