| It was ok, the ending was a bit c**p To start off with i thought it was based on kids book that i had read many many years ago (in my younger day), but i'm sure that didn't have a medium in it | |

| I'm watching the Tony Robinson thing. Its quite interesting. Certainly makes you think twice about going to see a medium for a personal reading. | |

| It is doing a very good job of giving a balanced argument from both a believers and sceptics point of view, as to whether mediums are actually communicating with spirits or are just very clever freudsters.
I'm really getting into it. Haven't been this into a programme for ages.

| This is what ive been telling people for years and now you know why i will not do private readings. This is because you only have to get something slightly wrong and you would have fingers pointing straight away. You can only be classed a fraudster if you know you are doing it, but some people really do believe that they are in communication with spirit which is their belief and this would class them as not being a fraud as this is their faith.
It must be wonderful to have so much faith in a certain subject.
It is only healthy to have some scepticism even if you totally believe because it keeps you on solid ground.
I believe there are genuine mediums and there are those who trick people then there are those who believe they have a gift but they have not.
This is why you should never give money for a private reading. if a genuine medium tells you something then it is from spirit and not for anyone to make money from.
This is normally how you can tell a true or fraudulistic medium.

| I was in a circle at a Spiritalist church for over 2 years, my daughter and I went to learn more about the spirit side of life and we were told that everyone has the ability to contact spirit. As I have said on this site everyone can draw but some people are artists and some are not and I believe it is the same with mediums, some are born to it and most of us are not. You can learn to get more in tune but not everyone can be a medium. I did readings within the circle and sometimes I did seem to get lots of information correct but I still questioned whether that was the person receiving the message making it fit as on most occasions I didn't feel I was getting anything, I don't know. How do you know that what you are getting is from spirit and not just your own imagination? The church do private readings on a Saturday morning and they charge a fee, however, in order to keep the church going they have to raise money somehow so I can understand this and they do not charge what the private mediums do, they also have services which are taken by mediums where messages are given and the services are free. My daughter and I have both had a number of private readings for which we have paid, some of them have been very accurate and in some I have wondered who they were talking about because it sure as hell wasn't me but we both went in with our eyes wide open and understood that we may not get a good reading and like anything in life sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you don't. However, there are vunerable people out there who go to mediums because they are desperate and are taken in by false mediums and come away more distraught than when they went it and this is totally unacceptable. As in all things there will always be good and bad, I do know people who have gone for readings and have been helped by what the medium has told them and when someone is hurting if something helps them come to terms with their grief and move on surely that is a good thing, but this is only my personal opinion. I do agree that it would be nice if true mediums offered their services for free but I somehow don't think this will happen | |
