strange voices as i fall asleep

hi this is going to sound odd and i wondered if this has ever happened to anyone before or if you know what this could be. I have had this happen a few times now and it seems when im asleep or drifting off i get my name or somebody elses name shouted down my ear it wakes me up. But on saturday night after id been belgrave hall on friday i was dozing off when i seen a womans face enter my head(not like a dream more a thought?) she had white hair in a bun in a high neck black dress ya know the type victorian women wore???? as i seen the face i got the name "Ruth" shouted in my ear i shot up in bed but no one was in my room.

if it is a sign of madness we have had it i always get a impression of a face sometimes it isnt clear though and when i say shout its more like a very loud whisper close to my ear im glad im not the only one makes me bloody jump i know that much lol

help peeps are we both nuts?

Yeah i get my name called often. Its louder than a day dream but only in my ear,not any where else in the house. Sort of in my head. And it always jolts me wide awake. Although i'm trying to practice staying relaxed when it happens so i can hopefully hear a bit more.
....so it seems i'm mad too.

Hi, I have had this for a long time. Voices calling my name and see faces of people I don't know or saying something which jerks me back awake. When I used to go to the spiritual church for the circle they told me it was spirit trying to contact me. Apprentley, the time when you are not quite asleep or awake is when you are most open to the spiritual realm because your mind is no longer on the waking world. They said to answer the voice and ask it what it wants.
I was not sure I wanted to do this as you don't know who is coming through. They said if you don't want to communicate with them tell them to 'go away, I don't want to talk to you, I am trying to go to sleep this is not the time to talk. You could try this if you don't want them bothering you, can't guarantee if it will work or not for you, I have done it and they used to leave me alone for awhile when I did. Of course, if you want to communicate then just relax and ask them want they want and you may get images in your mind.

yeah maybe ill try that coz this time i seemed to relax a little and let the face come into focus more then the voice followed maybe next time ill wait before i react see what else is said if anything. dunno where ruth came from though not a name i know of. the lady was in her mid 60s early 70s easy.Im glad i asked about it now seems alot of peeps get this. I do a lot of Bellringing, so i spend alot of might nights in local Churchs.
During the winter months is when i tend to hear voices comming from a certain church. (We close the curtains as it is a ground floor rind). Last week i would swear blind i heard someone twice say hello..

So you think your nuts, you had better add me onto the list, but i ready know i am!

lol wow we really are a bunch of crazy peeps we hunt dead folk and hear strange voices whatever next??? at least we have each other to keep company in the looney bin.

My boss wants me to do more art in the afternoon with groups at work, and I've been thinking about art things to do. And the other night as i was falling asleep, i got this female voice,as clear as anything, telling me not to worry about details, just keep it simple,it'll be
just as effective.
And at the same time i got an image of simple sketchy pictures.
So that was interesting really. Does it make me weird if i listen to these voices?

I;ve been sleeping at the looney bin for years

I started to doze off in the chair yesterday evening and i heard a mans voice say 'knockknock', it was so loud,and came from directly above my head,i sat straight up and looked up to see who it was ...i dont quite know what i was expecting to see lol.

hi it does always make me jump prob is u jump up more in shock than anything but think if i did see someone i would have a brwon trouser moment lol.

This morning i had strange voices as i was waking up .! .... I'd already jumped up out of bed to switch stairs light on and i got back into bed for a while and then in my head i heard this lady's voice saying there is a lady that looks out for you,she will protect you and help you when you need help, she is called Emily....-
But i didnt think she was talking to me,i got the impression she was talking to a child.
Perhaps i was still half asleep lol
