Science has revealed the physical processes of ageing, disease, death and decay which are considered a sacred mystery only a few hundred years ago. Science has also identified the biological stages of conception gestation and birth to the point where we should soon be able tocreate life artificially by cloning a human Being. But it remains for those who have personally experienced out-of-body awareness to reveal what actually happens at the moment of death and in the realm between lives.
Their accounts confirm that death is not an end, merely a transformation from one starte of awareness to another:a casting off off of a fragile shell we call our body. The majority of these people are ordinary people who feel unable to put there impressions in context, while the mystics frequently express their visions in obscure symbolism relevent to the religious and cultural conditioning of their time, thus leaving us none the wiser.
As a result, the process of dying and transition remains couched in vauge, subjective or fanciful imagery with no sense of where this heavenly realm might be or where it figures in the greater scheme.
there are detailed descriptions of the post mortem state in the litrature of the esoteric traditions, but even the Buddhist Tibetan book of the dead, which describes the first stages of death, does not offer a structural scheme of Human existance.
