PostSubject: Lucid Dreaming   Sun May 04, 2008 10:48 am

In a lucid dream, the dreamer remains fast asleep and yet fully aware that they are still dreaming. in some cases, a lucid dreamer can even guide the course of their dreams, controlling their random quality.

Ordinary dreams are products of the unconcious mind, and are prone to ambiguity. A lucid dream invites the reasoning eye of your concious mind to help organise the confusion. it is this unity of unconcious and concious awareness that creates the lucid dream.

Some cultures have practised lucid dreaming in order to gain spiritual insight. In some parts of the world spiritual practitioners 'incubate' lucid dreams, suggesting the with discipline and practice dreams can indeed be altered and controlled.

OK all see if you can work this one out for me please, not sure if i am putting them in the correct area but they feel like lucid after reading the description.

Zach has been having night terrors and every time he wakes screaming the place down, i wake or half wake up and can see bright green/yellow butterflies flying round the room in fact the first few times it happened i could'nt help but stop and watch them and these only appear if Zach is having a night terror???? and i know that they will be there if Zach wakes screaming in the night to the point that just before he starts screaming i am aware it is about to happen????

The next is the other night i knew i was asleep and dreaming but felt if i was outside my self watching events we were at the beach and the boys were playing Zach went down to the sea and sat just into the waves the next thing he was swallowed by this wave i could see it happen but could not do anything but i did expect him to thrown back onto the beach when the wave came back in but he did not. The next thing Richard (daddy) and me were screaming for help when we spotted his sun hat floating in the sea quite far out and i started to swim out to him even though i'm not a good swimmer and every time i got close the wave took him further out, then i grabbed him and pulled hin up and we were back on the beach and he was crying becuase the water tasted yukky.
At this point i woke and had to go and check on both boys even though i knew they were ok, i then went back to sleep into the same dreamand the same set of events happened again....
