Any books you have read and have finished with but not sure where to pass them on to? Write the name and a brief description of the book, and if anyone is interested in reading it we can (hopefully) arrange to pass it on.

Sickened. Julie Gregory

A young girl is perched on the cold chrome of yet another doctors examining table, missing yet another day of school. Just twelve, shes tall, skinny and weak. Her mother, on the other hand, seems curiously excited. She's about to suggest open heart surgery on her child to "get to the bottom of this". She checks her teeth for lipstick and, as the doctor enters, shoots the girl a warning glance. This child will not ruin her plans.
-
From early childhood, Julie Gregory was continually X-rayed, medicated and operated on in the vain pursuit of an illness that was created in her mothers mind:Munchausne by proxy, the worlds mist hidden and dangerous form of child abuse, Sickened is her story.

The Little Prisoner. Jane Elliot

The Little Prisoner is the devastating true story of a girl who was dominated, bullied and sexually abused by a man just 14 years her senior. He held her prisoner in an emotional and physical nightmare for 17 years...untill she fought back.

The September Girls. Maureen Lee.

Liverpool,1920, and on a stormy September night two women from very different backgrounds give birth to daughters in the same house. Enemies at first, the become friends, united by their own separate troubles which turn their lives upside down. But friendship between their daughters is another matter.....

Nineteen years later, at the start of the second world war, Cara and Sybil find themselves thrown together when they both enlist and are stationed in Malta. It is a time that has life changing repercussions for them both while, back in Liverpool, the bombs rain down on a defiant city.

Jude The Obscure - Thomas Hardy

Jude Fawley, a stone mason, has already suffered. His academic ambitions were thwarted by his poverty and class: trapped into a loveless marriage, he is now alone but not free. He comes to love his cousin Sue who, seemingly emancipated, is herself miserably married. Sue's words to Jude are prophetic, for although together they defy conventional morality to seize a chance of happiness, they are ultimately defeated by both circumstances and the flaws within their own nature.

This copy of the book is well loved, as it has already done a tour of my family, but there is still plenty of life in it, and its ready to tour a few more homes. study

Ah my reply from yesterday was one that got lost.... Incase anyone missed it i've got Raising Boys, Classroom Behaviour, Supporting Children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties ,and The Difficult Child. They're not story books but are very interesting and full of useful strategies for managing behaviour. If anyone would like to borrow any i dont mind.
